Chetwynd is an English civil parish within the unitary authority of Telford and Wrekin

Chetwynd Parish Council area in Shropshire is north of Newport straddling the A41 trunk road heading towards Whitchurch and contains the village of Sambrook and the hamlets of Howle Puleston and Pickstock a number of agricultural farms a Deer Park a lavender farm and a very small part of Newport. The northern boundary with Staffordshire is a Roman road and there are written records of the area in the Domesday Book. In 1981 a bronze age log boat from earlier times was found in Chetwynd Park adjacent to the River Meese (which crosses the area) and after restoration is now on display at the Harper Adams university in Edgmond. In 1318 Sir John de Chetwynd was granted the right to hold a market fair on All Souls Day each year, this charter is held in the Archives in Shrewsbury. Chetwynd Hall played host to Charles 1 st during the Civil war in 1645. The Chetwynd Deer Park is now owned by the Newport and District Agricultural Society who organise the annual Newport Show and play host to other activities in the grounds during the year. There are two churches in the parish, one at Chetwynd and the other in Sambrook.
