Agenda
Annual Parish Meeting
Monday 13th May at 6:30 pm. Sambrook Village Hall
There can be, and often is, confusion between the Annual Parish Meeting and the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council. The Annual Parish Meeting is NOT a Council meeting. However, the Chairman of the Parish Council will usually chair any debate.
In England, the annual parish meeting of a parish with a Parish Council must take place between 1st March and 1st June, both dates inclusive, and must take place no earlier than 6pm.
The purpose of the Annual Parish Meeting allows the parish council to explain what it has been doing over the last year and provides an opportunity for the electors to have their say on anything they consider is important to the people of the Parish. Any member of the public /registered elector may ask questions, make suggestions or comment on anything relevant to the residents of Chetwynd Parish, which will usually be answered by the Chair, the Clerk to the Council, or a designated Councillor. However, if any vote or poll is required, only those registered on the electoral roll of the Parish may vote.
